Job Description

Job Title: CAD Technician

Reports To: Survey Manager

 Job Overview

Assist in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in estimating and operations for one or more discipline areas.

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Generate cut/fill quantities for earthwork projects.
2. Generate cut/fill tick maps and cross-sections from bid drawings.
3. Design and quantify waste and borrow sites.
4. Perform general and earthwork quantity take-off
5. Prepare pricing for bid components as directed by Chief Estimator.
6. Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating or project folders.
7. Prepare machine control files for Operations team after successful bids.
8. Prepare progress and final as-built drawings with the Operations team.
9. Coordinate regularly with Estimating and Operations/Survey teams.
10. Perform additional assignments as directed by Management.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

• Associate’s degree in relevant field like computer-aided design (CAD), drafting, or engineering technology; or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• At least five (5) years of field experience and three (3) years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center
