KSC Founders Inducted Into WV Business Hall of Fame
Kanawha Stone Company is proud to announce that its founders, Art and Virginia King, were formally inducted into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame on Tuesday, August 26th. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual West Virginia Business Summit at The Greenbrier Resort. The honor recognizes the Kings’ visionary leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and decades of dedication to advancing business and community development across the Mountain State. Established by West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics, the Hall of Fame celebrates leaders who have made a lasting impact on West Virginia’s economy and beyond.
Since founding Kanawha Stone Company in 1973, Art and Virginia have grown the business into one of West Virginia’s leading heavy civil construction firms. Under their leadership, KSC has built a reputation for delivering transformative infrastructure projects that strengthen communities and create opportunities across the region. Their work has not only advanced West Virginia’s transportation and development landscape but also provided meaningful careers for generations of hardworking men and women
“This induction is not only a recognition of Art and Virginia’s extraordinary business achievements, but also their lifelong commitment to West Virginia’s people and progress,” said WVU Chambers College Dean Josh Hall during the ceremony. With this honor, the Kings join a distinguished group of entrepreneurs and executives whose innovation and leadership continue to inspire future generations of business leaders in West Virginia. The 2025 induction class also included C. Lynch Christian, III, President, Oakwood Holdings, Inc. and Louis Weisberg, President & CEO, Service Wire Company.
