Kanawha Stone Company completed construction services for the Benedum Airport Runway Safety Area Approach Slopes project in Harrison County, WV. The project consisted of more than 443,000 cubic yards of excavation and grading work.

Clearing/grubbing, water line relocation, erosion control devices, earthwork (on-site and off-site borrow), box culvert, drainage structures, drainage pipes, and additional construction activities were all part of the project. Kanawha Stone Company self-performed most of the tasks associated with the contract and met subcontracting goals through the utilization of various subcontractors. Kanawha Stone Company was responsible for all drilling, blasting, survey, erosion and sediment control, grading and reclamation.
