Kanawha Stone Company provided site preparation services for a new facility for a Kentucky Refinery.  The project began required a fast track completion date. Kanawha Stone Company crews delivered the site in a nine month timeframe, exceeding the deadlines and client expectations. The project entailed an approximately 30 acre site development for a new facilities building at the refinery. The building was constructed in order to consolidate six offices at various locations within the plant to one central location outside the plant.

Kanawha Stone Company crews provided more than 270,000 cubic yards of excavation, and were responsible for the installation of 3200 linear feet of water and 1800 linear feet of sewer utilities in heavy traffic areas. During the project, 200 Linear Feet of ten-inch diameter bore casing was installed under a high-traffic major four-lane highway. Kanawha Stone Company utilized a subcontractor to provide directional boring technology to install the casing. By using directional boring, the Kanawha Stone Company team was able to control the depth, angle and location of the drill to a high degree of accuracy. This allowed the four inch Sanitary Sewer Force Main to be installed without any impact to traffic or the general public.
